The International Wine Show Prague, the international B2B wine presentation which was held on 28 April 2016, introduced 70 exhibitors, wine producers and distributors from the Czech Republic and abroad, who are seeking new business partners. 600 visitors – professionals from wine businesses – could focus on wines coming from groups of winemakers such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco, as well as from individual winemakers from different wine-producing countries – Austria, Germany, France, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Bosna and Herzegovina, etc.

An important milestone for IWSP was its inclusion in the list of events supported by the Wine Fund of the Czech Republic. This means that IWSP has come even closer to local winemakers, able to offer them very attractive conditions of participation.

IWSP managed to attract Serge Dubs, one of the world´s leading wine experts, who presented all the supplementary programmes – the Masterclasses. Chief French sommelier Serge Dubs has won all the awards which a top sommelier could possibly attain during his career. In addition to a number of major local awards, in 1983 he won the title of Best Sommelier in France, in 1988 he became the European Champion and, one year later, his career peaked with the title of World Champion of Sommeliers.

All three supplementary events - the Prosecco DOCG Masterclass, and the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Masterclass of Slovenian Wines – aroused huge interest among visitors. The presentation of Italian sparkling wines was introduced by Giulia Pussini, representative of Consortium Tutela del Vino Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco. The Federation of Wine Producers from Châteauneuf-du-Pape was represented by Béatrice Mialon and a special guest of the Slovenian wine event was the Minister of Agriculture, Dejan Židan, accompanied by Leon Marc, Slovenian Ambassador to Prague.

All these facts confirmed IWSP´s position as a market leader in the field of viniculture and the organisers are already preparing another interesting programme for autumn 2016.
